Which Nula Studio Is Right for Your Shoot?

For headshots and solo content, book Studio F. For small product, beauty or lifestyle shoots, look at Studio A, Studio B and Studio G. Fashion shoots with a team fit Studio C and Studio D. For a seamless white background, choose Studio H or Studio E. For cars, big sets or groups up to 50, book Studio J.
Three questions that narrow it down
1. Window light or a seamless background? Six of our studios are daylight studios built around their windows. Three have a cyc wall: a curved white wall with no visible corner, so your subject looks like it's floating on white.
2. How many people? Count everyone: talent, stylists, assistants and clients. Each studio has a maximum, and each rate includes a set number of people.
3. How much room do you need to move? Full-length fashion, dance, video with camera moves and big sets need more floor and ceiling than a headshot does.

Daylight studios: pick by size and time of day
Window direction decides when a room gets its strongest light. East-facing windows get the morning sun, and west-facing windows get the afternoon sun. If natural light matters to your shoot, match your booking time to the windows. All rates in this guide are weekday rates; weekends are $10 an hour more.
- Studio F: 400 sq ft, 13 ft ceiling, west windows. Afternoon light, and the tall ceiling gives you room for overhead lights in a small space. Up to 10 people. $35/hr.
- Studio A: a 550 sq ft sunlit loft with a 12 ft ceiling and south-west windows that bring in warm afternoon light. Up to 12 people. $39/hr.
- Studio B: 600 sq ft, 11 ft ceiling, bright south-east windows. Up to 12 people. $44/hr.
- Studio G: 600 sq ft, 11 ft ceiling, south-east windows. Room for up to 15 people. $44/hr.
- Studio C: an 800 sq ft multi-set studio with south-east windows and a flower wall. Up to 20 people. $49/hr.
- Studio D: an 800 sq ft multi-set studio with soft north-east window light. Up to 20 people. $49/hr.

Cyc wall studios: pick by height and group size
- Studio H: 800 sq ft with 14 ft ceilings. The extra height helps with full-length shots and overhead lights. Up to 15 people. $49/hr.
- Studio E: 900 sq ft on the ground floor, with a 12 ft ceiling and east windows. Loading heavy gear is easy. Up to 20 people. $54/hr.
- Studio J: a 1,200 sq ft drive-in studio with a 16 ft ceiling and a garage door. Drive in a car or roll in a large set. Up to 50 people. $89/hr, with a 3-hour minimum.

Match the studio to your group
From smallest to largest, by maximum people:
- Up to 10: Studio F
- Up to 12: Studios A and B
- Up to 15: Studios G and H
- Up to 20: Studios C, D and E
- Up to 50: Studio J
Each rate includes a set number of people: 3 in Studio F, 4 in Studios A and B, and 5 in every other studio. Bigger groups pay a per-hour guest fee that depends on the studio and group size. You see the full price, including any guest fee, before you pay.
If your group might go over a studio's maximum, book the next size up. Under our studio rules, a session over the limit is ended immediately.
Getting your gear in
Our nine studios are in four buildings a few blocks apart in East Williamsburg:
- 55 Meadow St: Studios A, E, F and H
- 35 Meadow St: Studios B and G
- 200 Morgan Ave: Studios C and D
- 301 Meserole St: Studio J
Studios A, B, F, G and H have a freight elevator. If you need it, email info@nulastudios.com before your booking. Studios C and D are up one flight of stairs with no elevator. Studio E is on the ground floor, and Studio J has a ground-floor garage door. If you're bringing rolling cases or heavy set pieces, those details matter as much as the room.
What's in every room
Every studio includes at least two Profoto D2 strobes, Aputure LED lights, stands, modifiers and every backdrop color as a background. The cyc studios add an Aputure 600D, and Studio J has three Profoto strobes and six LED panels. Each studio page lists the exact kit.
Need more? Add an extra Profoto ($50), a spotlight attachment ($50) or a Scrim Jim 8x8 set up for you ($75) when you book. A seamless paper pull, for standing on the paper, is $15 per color.
